If I can make the dates work, I will make the trek from Ottawa to Toronto (or Montreal, etc.) for a domainer meetup, especially since I am skipping NamesCon this year due to family commitment.

Get Dave Lahoti to sell me DevCo.com

These 'buyers' are complete idiots and deserve the very public ass whooping that is probably heading their way via Dave, who is a very sharp cookie and also very litigious. There's a right and a wrong way to go about buying a domain, and these obnoxious and entitled clowns double-downed on...

So sorry to hear about the stress you have been facing https://dn.ca/data/avatars/s/0/395.jpg?1698232698@Adampedia. You are not alone. Many domain investors, globally, even those with incredible one-word .com domains, have been experiencing a soft resale market the last 12-18 months. Business...

    DN.ca interview on domainnamewire.com

One topic suggestion is what are the cons/negatives of a Canadian company NOT buying their brand in .CA and choosing instead to go with .COM. I always warn clients that not having the .CA will negatively impact their search engine results for Canadians searching on Google, etc.

    .ca domain appraisal

I like that the domain is short and is a call to action. My concern with that domain (as a name for a brand) is that both "Go" and "Web" are words associated with "GoDaddy" so to me "Go Web" or "GoWeb" sounds like a GoDaddy knock-off or wannabe brand. I am not talking about trademark risk or...

Booth Brothers never met a domain name they did not like...

As a general comment, not specific to this case, my two cents are that these very public squabbles between domain investors do not reflect well on our industry. I also doubt they produce the outcome either party desires.

    Should Escrow offer Landers?

Trust me, you don't want Escrow.com and their tiny, underpaid and overworked tech team to be responsible for your landing pages resolving! That would be a disaster in the making.

How NOT to use a domain name for email

All good points. At least she's not using a swetha.COM email address, which would be hypocritical from her standpoint as the queen of .xyz domains.

    Welcome to EftyPay

Note the "or" in first bullet, I read it as 5% if I bring my own deal to Efty to transact. That's attractive, although 1% at Escrow.com is more attractive.

    Stealth Acquisitions

Helping clients acquire domains discreetly is one of the reasons buyer brokers, such as yours truly, exist. In some cases, this is because the buyers got burned, or feel like they got burned, going direct to a domain owner in the past. Buyers can behave badly, as can brokers, but some domain...

DNW: Verizon wins $450k cybersquatting judgment

I can't figure out what this Matt guy's end-game was. Unless he's just incredibly stupid, which I doubt. If I had to guess, I would guess he had some petty grievance against Verizon (real or imaginary) and this was how he sought 'revenge' ... which did not exactly work out well for him. Dude...

    Beware of broker tactic

Chiming in here, better late than never, with my buyer broker hat on. (I was on vacation last week). Who sells domains on ebay?

It's a great platform to pick up the occasional bargain, and to browse some horrible domains with delusional pricing, but is useless for selling. I still use eBay to buy obscure physical items, and I sold a ton of my second-hand electronic gadgets on eBay back in the day.

    SAV.com - Registrar, Auctions - Official Topic

I have used Sav for some dropcatching of expired domains. Worked fine, although the auctions are public, which is not my preferred model. Sav is owned by a longtime domainer, Anthos Chrysanthou, so keep that in the back of your mind when using the platform.

.AI domain names are like gold mines

FWIW, of all the domains in my (albeit small) portfolio, the domains that get the most purchase inquiries (2022-2023 time frame), by far, are my one-word .ai domains. Haven't sold any of them yet, but I sure hope to. Majority of my portfolio is .com and I have no plans to change that.

Is .net still a good investment?

Oddly enough, my biggest personal sale of a domain (i.e., a domain I owned) was a one-word .net I purchased for $8k and sold for $40k a few years later ... this was over 10 years ago, before all the new TLDs emerged, and I still consider that sale to be very, very lucky. Despite that sale and...

I have a buyer offering $10,000 with $7,500 net to you.

Also, if the domain is a one-word .ai domain, it's worth more than $10k these days.

I have a buyer offering $10,000 with $7,500 net to you.

Make sure the landing page gives a potential buyer the chance to contact you. They may reach out to you directly, and you could then net 100% of the sale price.

Is .net still a good investment?

Some domainers, notably Braden P, have done well buying and selling .net domains, but as a Buyer Broker, I rarely ever get a buyer client wanting to buy a .net domain. My end-user clients are far more interested in .com, .org, .co, .io, .ai, classic ccTLDs including .ca, etc. than they are in...

Marketplaces accept payment in CDN $?

Escrow.com supports CAD payments/transactions, as does Escrow.domains. The registrar MyID.ca also offers a CAD 'escrow-esque' service, but only for .CA domains. Be careful with using the MyID.ca service however because, well, it's MyID.ca. ;+)

    Domain King vs Shane Cultra

Who is renewing .com's before the September 1st price increase?

I've been renewing stuff a few months earlier than normal, and also renewing the 'gold' stuff for multiple years, but also not going crazy since there's cash-flow to think about as well, not just saving $1 per domain.
