One topic suggestion is what are the cons/negatives of a Canadian company NOT buying their brand in .CA and choosing instead to go with .COM. I always warn clients that not having the .CA will negatively impact their search engine results for Canadians searching on Google, etc.

I like that the domain is short and is a call to action. My concern with that domain (as a name for a brand) is that both "Go" and "Web" are words associated with "GoDaddy" so to me "Go Web" or "GoWeb" sounds like a GoDaddy knock-off or wannabe brand. I am not talking about trademark risk or...

As a general comment, not specific to this case, my two cents are that these very public squabbles between domain investors do not reflect well on our industry. I also doubt they produce the outcome either party desires.

I can vouch for Efty, have been using it for 5+ years, since whenever they first launched. I never heard enough good things, or really anything, about Domain dot io to want to try it out.

It's a great platform to pick up the occasional bargain, and to browse some horrible domains with delusional pricing, but is useless for selling. I still use eBay to buy obscure physical items, and I sold a ton of my second-hand electronic gadgets on eBay back in the day.

I have used Sav for some dropcatching of expired domains. Worked fine, although the auctions are public, which is not my preferred model. Sav is owned by a longtime domainer, Anthos Chrysanthou, so keep that in the back of your mind when using the platform.

FWIW, of all the domains in my (albeit small) portfolio, the domains that get the most purchase inquiries (2022-2023 time frame), by far, are my one-word .ai domains. Haven't sold any of them yet, but I sure hope to. Majority of my portfolio is .com and I have no plans to change that.

Escrow.com supports CAD payments/transactions, as does Escrow.domains. The registrar MyID.ca also offers a CAD 'escrow-esque' service, but only for .CA domains. Be careful with using the MyID.ca service however because, well, it's MyID.ca. ;+)
